RE: Invitation to the 3rd National Volunteers Summit

Greetings!

The Volunteer Orgainiations Information Coordination & Exchange, Inc or VOICE Network is pleased to invite you to participate in the 3rd National Volunteers Summit to be held on April 1-3, 2009 at Pagatpat Resort, Buenavista, Guimaras.

After the successful gathering of about 200 volunteers in the past two NVS (2005, 2006), VOICE is set for another meaningful collaboration of people working towards national development.

In recent years, VOICE has been working towards sustaining volunteer service by linking volunteer organizations for information and resources exchange. As a national network, it has convened various sectors of society for capability building and organizational enhancement. With the firm belief that volunteers contribute a great deal in building a better world, VOICE yearns to nurture them to keep their noble tasks.

Dubbed as 'Filipino Volunteering for Global Citizenship: Education and Environment', the 3rd National Volunteers Summit (NVS) will be held on April 1-3, 2009 in Guimaras. The summit aims to encourage discussion on the role Filipino volunteers in the areas of environment and education as vital factors in global citizenship.

Apart from the NVS staple discussions and workshops, for the first time, NVS 2009 will offer an actual hands-on volunteering experience that will serve as the opening activity for the summit.  The NVS will also be organized using the Amazing Race format, i.e., participants, grouped into five teams, will be earning points in every activity within the summit they will be actively involved in.  It is hoped that through this format, volunteers, who value teamwork, will be reaffirmed in that belief.

We invite you, your institution and volunteers to join us in this rare opportunity to link with our network. In sharing with our mission of valuing volunteers, you become an integral part in shaping the progress of our nation.

For more information on the event activities and logistical details, please click this link  for NVS 2009 Programme & Reply Slip.doc. You may also contact the NVS Secretariat (Dindin Belgica) 09159262619, (0632) 4359240 loc 212, (Mazel Jeongco) 09052839709 or email us at voicenational@yahoo.com.

Thank you and hoping for your favorable response.

Sincerely yours,

Ruben M. Gamala
